Mission
Temple Emanu-El Brotherhood has been serving the needs of our Temple community and the Dallas community at large since 1922.
Through the efforts and the generosity of the Brotherhood members we provide ushering for Shabbat and holiday services, cooks thousands of meals every month for the needy, supports and sponsors Boy Scout Troop 729, partners with Sisterhood to supply weekly oneg Shabbats for the congregation, conducts semi-annual blood drives, contributes pajamas to Dallas Child Protective Services, and delivers Meals on Wheels.
Brotherhood also holds spring and fall Plant Sales, provides support for DAFTY and the Dallas Fire/Rescue Dept., coordinates a community-wide Christmas Mitzvah program, holds quarterly Community Breakfasts with significant and sometimes controversial speakers, delivers thousands of warm clothing items to the needy in our Coats for Kids campaign, runs the annual Party Expo, and entertains children with a Pajama Party and adults with our Texas Hold’em Tournament and Photo Club.
Brotherhood always has room for more active members, more good ideas, more worthwhile programs. We invite you to join us, come to a Brotherhood meeting (typically the first Wednesday each month starting with dinner at 6:15 PM), and to be part of one or more of the many worthwhile activities we undertake. The pay isn’t great, but the non-monetary rewards are terrific.
